Wajima lacquerware is one of Japan's leading traditional crafts. It is characterized by a robust finish using lacquer mixed with diatomaceous earth called "Wajima ground powder" produced locally, and "clothing" (pasting cloth to reinforce fragile parts) in the base process. be. It also has elegance due to its elegant decoration. It has a long history, and it is believed that lacquer ware was already produced in Wajima during the Muromachi period.
